Once in a bible study with a topic of forgiveness and sacrament of reconciliation, somebody jumped at me with the above question, "Why should we ask God for forgiveness if tomorrow we'll sin again?"
We should ask ourselves, "Why should I brush my teeth if tomorrow it will need brushing again?" "Why should I take a shower today if tomorrow my body will need cleaning again?" "Why should I wash my car if tomorrow it will get dirty again?"
I knew a friend who owned two Mercedes-Benz; and yes he was the only one who used those. We probably could tell just from that statement alone that his hobby was cars. But there was something special with this guy. He washed his two cars alternately every single day without any excuses whatsoever. So the longest his cars were ever without washing was two days. Whenever I visited his house his cars are ALWAYS shiny! Amazing! I did not have a Mercedes and my car was lucky if I remember to wash it weekly.
How beautiful it is if we could keep our spirit shining like my friend's two Mercedes. "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life" (Jn 8:12). Jesus is the Light of the world and we are called to be one just like Him. The standard is high. How bright is our shine? How glowing is our spirit? When people meet us, are they inspired by our presence at the end of that encounter? Do they see Jesus in us or our flesh is in the way?
I strive hard to stay on course and fix my eyes on Jesus. If I ever fall into sin and fall off the road towards Heaven, then instead of saying, "If I will sin again tomorrow, why should I ask God for forgiveness today?" I should be saying, "Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us."
It's important to brush our teeth and shower frequently, hopefully everyday :-) to stay healthy. It's important to wash the car regularly for those who own one as part of the maintenance to keep it shiny and long-lasting. It is extremely vital for us through forgiveness and sacrament of reconciliation to keep our spirit glowing as beacons of Christ's Light on Earth.
If people do not see the Light of Christ through us, then the only choice left is people see our flesh abound. And that is ugly.
Shine Jesus shine! Fill our life with the Father's glory. Blaze Spirit blaze, set our hearts on fire and let the world sees Your Light within us. Let us be the bearer of the Heavenly torch to set the world on fire with Your Love, amen!

Be careful on a simple "solution" =)
Nice article..!
Be careful on a simple "solution" but theologically incorrect that's sometimes used by some groups They will say: We always sin, that's our human nature, we cannot avoid it. That's why, once we accept Christ, we are saved, and we cannot lose our salvation even though we commit sins thousand or million times...
Their father or root is from a person who said this when he was still alive: "Sin cannot tear you away from him [Christ], even though you commit adultery a hundred times a day and commit as many murders."
I think, that defeat the purpose of asking forgiveness itself... Why Ask Forgiveness If Tomorrow Sin Again then? It seems asking forgiveness doesn't matter anymore... because whether we ask forgiveness or not, we will always be saved at the end......
Do you know who is the person who taught that sentence in quotation? Ask me if you want to know.
